2023-06-23 I Got a HP 721A Power Supply From Ebay

I bought this HP 721A power supply from an eBay seller for about $40 total. The old timer (dated 12-15-59) needed some TLC – the line cord jacket was frayed and falling off so I replaced it. It’s all solid state, germanium. The case needs to be cleaned up, but it’s got some signs of

2023-06-20 Bureaucracy – California vs. Texas

I agree that there is a lot of bureaucracy in California. But it’s there for a reason – many reasons. I think Texas will eventually be the same way when their population continues to grow.

2023-06-18 Antarctic Sea Ice Retreating

This 13 minute Interview of Sir David King, explaining what *has* happened. He said that when the Greenland Ice Cap melts, the global sea level will rise seven meters (23 feet), which will dramatically change the coastlines of countries. 2023-06-17 Replacing a Power BJT With a MOSFET

How to Replace a Transistor (BJT) with a MOSFET Crys Crystii I read that article and he *completely* ignores the gate drive needed to properly switch a power MOSFET on and off. MOSFETs are mosly used for switching high currents, and the time it takes to switch one from nonconducting to conducting *must* be minimized.

2023-06-15 Shame on the Fossil Fuels industries for KILLING Millions of Birds!

I have absolutely no respect whatsoever for people who claim that wind turbines chop up birds – they do not! The sea birds avoid offshore wind turbines. Wind turbines on land are installing surveillance cameras and when they spot a bird close to a wind turbine, that turbine is shut down. Furthermore, the oil spills
