2021-07-12 CO2 To Syngas Using Sabatier Process
Read Applications section for pilot plants that use CO2 to make CH4 that can be used in the existing natural gas system. Also it’s being used to power a fleet of cars.
Only problem with CO2 capture to syngas is that it doesn’t permanently remove the CO2 from the atmosphere.

2021-07-11 Judge Blocks Fla. Law To Punish Social Media
The Florida Trumplicans passed a law that fines social media companies $250,000 a day for suspending accounts of politicians. This law violates the social media companies’ First Amendment rights to control what users agreed to when they signed up.
What should be of great concern to everyone is that a law that is this egregious gets passed by the state legislatures and gets signed into law by the governor. Something is fundamentally wrong with the Trumplicans who lose their sense of what the Constitution and federal court decisions allow. It should never have been passed by the legislatures; some of them were not Trumplicans and this law should have been debated and the law’s conflicts should have been explained. That should have been enough to change the law so it wouldn’t be in conflict with the Constitution. Because that didn’t happen, it is apparent to me that the majority of legislators didn’t use common sense in passing this law. This legislative crudeness speaks poorly of the majority who passed this bill. Should these legislators ask their constituents if this law should be passed?
Apparently the legislators do not take polls of their constituents to find out what their opinions are. These legislators are supposed to represent their constituents — they’re not!
What politicians should do
The politicians should not use social media for expressing any political opinion. Politicians should only use social media to put a link to the politician’s official government website, where all political information should be posted.
2021-07-11 Jan 6th Rioters Were Deceived, Still Suffer
This ‘history’ article makes me feel sad – over 400 people have been charged for being a part of the attempted coup d’etat at the capitol on Jan. 6th. Hundreds of people will spend time in jail and millions of dollars will be spent prosecuting these people. Why? Because then-president Trump and his Trumplican cult followers lied to the newsmedia and public and caused this riot, and Trump still insists to this day that the election was fraudulent. This resulted in the second impeachment of Trump.
2021-07-11 Fossil Fuel Deaths V. Nuclear Deaths — Be Fair!
There are so many authors that point out that fossil fuels have killed many, many more people than nuclear power plants. They have a standard claim that “only a hundred people have died, directly because of nuclear power”. But then they claim that millions have died because of fossil fuels, however those deaths are indirect, they were not directly caused by the fossil fuels. The following link is an example of this.
It is unfair to compare the unlimited number of deaths caused by fossil fuels to the extremely limited number of deaths caused by nuclear reactor radiation.
In fairness, all of the deaths indirectly caused by Chernobyl and Fukushima and others should be included.
And there are many more radiation deaths that I have never heard these authors tell us about. These are the hundreds of uranium miners who died of lung cancer a decade or more after working in the uranium mines*. Then there have been deaths of people who happened to live near Chernobyl and Fukushima and had cancer caused by radiation that got into their bodies from the food they ate or the air they breathed.
These authors seem to be trying to cover up the truth: there are many more nuclear deaths than they want to admit there are.

2021-07-10 SMES Superconducting Magnet Energy Storage
Bill Sherman told me about SMES which has already been put into use commercially. One of the concerns is how much energy is wasted to keep the magnets cryogenically cold. Another cost concern is the superconducting coil has to be made of a material that contains very expensive rare metals.
