She says LC3 can be made like cement but with 40% less CO2. Pilot plants are already operating, and make a material comparable to concrete.

When it comes to generating power, there is only one factor that counts: cost per kWh. Renewables plus storage cost less than any conventional power and the cost is still going down. Those fossil fuel and nuclear power plants are unable to lower their costs and are being (and will be) declared stranded assets and taken out of service and decommissioned. End of story.
BTW nuclear fusion is a dead end. There is an unlimited supply of deuterium, but there is only enough tritium in the whole world to run a single tokamak for a fraction of a year, and no way to generate enough tritium in the future. Dead end.

We are not facing a slow energy transition. We are facing a rapid and total energy transformation, and it has already begun.
This is a novel idea. Heat up sand during the daytime with solar energy. After sunset circulate the hot sand through a steam generator to run a turbine and generator.

I’m not sure this chart is predicting realistic numbers. As a TSLA shareholder I hope it will be that way. But if we look at the amount of raw materials that will be needed for the hundreds of millions of batteries in the future, there is a point where obtaining enough of those raw materials will get more and more difficult.
Another factor is TaaS – transportation as a service. As autonomous ride hailing makes a car less and less a necessity, fewer people will buy a new EV and instead will use the Tesla app on their smartphone to get a ride, just like Lyft or Uber.

We already have TaaS with human drivers — Lyft, Uber, taxis. To get *autonomous* ride hailing we need the software, the vehicle can be any kind.
There will be recycling raw materials from scrapped ICEVs to EVs. But that doesn’t include batteries. The newer LFP batteries use no cobalt, saving a lot of money. And they’re good enough to give decent range – 400 km or more.
