2020-09-10 Model Of Least Cost All Renewables Grid

This is supposed to be a least cost model. Solar reaching up to 4.3 times capacity. I would expect that much of the curtailment would be replaced by “flexible loads” controlled by the grid, most of which would be hydrogen generation. The hydrogen could be stored and used for longer term storage/generation and/or transportation fuel.

2020-09-08 Nikola GM Partnership; Hydrogen

From my comments. From what I’ve seen, Nikola is really trying to get rolling with heavy trucks with hydrogen. That’s where Milton doesn’t have to compete with Tesla. The badger pickup with batteries is kind of a hard sell because it will be competing with Tesla, and that’s nearly an impossibility without some biggie like

2020-09-05 Ammonia To Hydrogen For Fuel

This 2017 article is on a website dedicated to ammonia as a the mechanism for transporting hydrogen to be used as fuel. There is a large amount of hydrogen made into ammonia for fertilizer, so it’s an established industry. But this uses methane AKA natural gas as the source for the hydrogen, so it is

2020-08-28 OMG Dirty Tricks Climate Scientists Faced

The dirty tricks climate scientists faced. Just like the tobacco industry tried to do. But in this case they’re damaging the Earth and all of the lives on it. And that is just plain unacceptable. https://theconversation.com/amp/ipcc-the-dirty-tricks-climate-scientists-faced-in-three-decades-since-first-report-145126

2020-08-23 Author: Need More Nuclear Reactors & Fusion

From NYP article https://nypost.com/2020/08/22/four-new-solutions-smarter-than-the-disastrous-green-new-deal/amp/ << For one thing, the sun doesn’t always shine and the wind doesn’t always blow. Therefore, the more wind and solar we add to the grid, the less cost-effective each new panel or turbine becomes. Doubling or tripling the number of turbines available doesn’t help much on days when the wind

2020-08-22 Nikola; Tesla, Elon Musk, Thinking Ahead

I watched this video about Nikola company and read some of mostly negative comments about Nikola. I have this to say: Okay, Debbie Downer. You said a lot of bad things about this Nikola company. But you have to remember that people said a lot of bad things about Tesla and Elon got the government

2020-08-17 World Needs Nuclear Power; Peaker Plants

From: https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2020/08/16/why-the-world-needs-more-nuclear-power/amp/ The point is that the Asia Pacific region is growing and renewables may not be able meet their need for more electric power. They may have to choose between building fossil fueled and nuclear power plants. Building fossil fueled plants is increasing their greenhouse gas emissions, so they have nuclear power as their
