2021-02-22 Tesla PowerWall, Megapack, StorEn Price Info Per kWh

This article gives an idea of how much a Tesla PowerWall will cost. This StorEn company has only a few employees. They are crowdfunding and have not yet sold a flow battery. They’re supposedly in the business of making vanadium redox flow batteries. https://cleantechnica.com/2020/10/05/tesla-megapack-powerpack-powerwall-battery-storage-prices/ https://www.startengine.com https://www.storen.com Update Feb 23 – TSLA was down to $632

2020-12-27 Byron Bay, AU Solar Powered Train

This train runs using an EV battery! Amazing. We need a lot more like it. Tom Scott’s short video https://youtu.be/6Y4QGFte3T8 More information on this and other solar trains https://futurism.com/worlds-first-fully-solar-powered-train-left-station

Generate Hydrogen With A Solar Concentrator = Parabolic Mirror + Other Hydrogen Articles

This needs an expensive catalyser. But the solar energy is free and it generates about a kilogram of hydrogen a day, which can power a car for 150 km. We need green hydrogen to power the whole world and leave the fossil fuels in the ground. Now! https://youtu.be/uj-xFUnN96k ************************** The European Commission plans on having

2020-10-07 The Solenco PowerBox™ System

This self-contained system uses solar PV panels as the only power input. It generates and stores green hydrogen, then uses it later for both electricity and heat. The fuel cell’s byproduct is water. One important “problem” that I see is that this system makes the customer completely independent of the electricity _and_ gas utilities. There

2020-10-01 Renewables Don’t Need Baseload Power

This 4.7 min. TED Talk Youtube video dispels the myth that solar and wind can’t do the job without “base load” power. Amory Lovins is with the US NREL, and is an authority on this subject. He also states that renewables are less expensive than fossil or nuclear power. https://youtu.be/Oo8iEL6SqgI

2020-09-28 Tesla, Sonnen, And Other Home Battery Systems

Matt Ferrell has the text to his YouTube video about the Tesla Powerwall, Sonnen, etc. and a link to the video. The Tesla Powerwall and others cost about $10,000 installed. The systems may allow you to run your home from the battery when there is a power outage on the grid. Solar PV panels will

2020-09-25 Anaheim Will Get Electric Buses

The electric vehicle revolution is already happening. Hopefully it will occur much quicker that 2035, which is when Gov. Newsom has signed a law mandating all new vehicles sold must be zero polluting. The only problem is people are avoiding mass transit systems because of CoVID19. I’ve read that ridership is down. That should change

2020-09-10 Model Of Least Cost All Renewables Grid

This is supposed to be a least cost model. Solar reaching up to 4.3 times capacity. I would expect that much of the curtailment would be replaced by “flexible loads” controlled by the grid, most of which would be hydrogen generation. The hydrogen could be stored and used for longer term storage/generation and/or transportation fuel.

2020-09-03 Distributed Generation And Islanding

There is a lot of concern for safety when DGs (distributed generators) are connected to the power grid. The grid operators must ensure that none of the DGs feed back into the grid when the grid generator is not operating. They go through several scenarios in this article. https://electrical-engineering-portal.com/protection-impacts-intentional-islanding-distributed-generation From what I see the DG

2020-08-12 The Future is Green Hydrogen and Electricity From Renewable Sources

I’ve been paying a lot more attention to my blog and especially with adding the links to the articles and books I’ve been reading. I have made investments in companies that see the future is away from fossil fuels and towards all renewables. And the companies that are going to produce green hydrogen to use
