There is speculation among viewers about what is going to be put into the ‘landfill pit’ being built next to the building at Giga Texas. Some say it’s a landfill; others think it’s too shallow for a landfill. I was reading the following article and noticed that the conventional cathode production has a lot of waste water that is left over. Tesla is supposed to switch to the newer cathode production that doesn’t have the waste water. There are two diagrams that show each process in the article. It’s possible that the plant will need the pit for wastewater from the conventional process.

This good blog has many links to other articles about competitors to Li-Ion AKA LIBs. But near the end it explains why LIBs may be very difficult to compete against.

It points out that as more renewables make up the grid, there is more demand for medium (8 to 24 hours) storage and long term storage, even seasonal. The success of the storage is necessary because it must replace the fossil fuel “base load” plants. It’s very difficult to replace a nuclear power plant that puts out full power for more than a year. But it must be done to eliminate fossil fuels.

To you, Mr. De Bits, it may be irrelevant because you are apparently clueless about how important the lives of batteries are going to be for the V2G – vehicle to grid – that will force fossil fuels out of electricity generation.

See, its not just about vehicle mileage, it’s about using some of the EV’s battery for the same functions that the Tesla Powerwalls and Megapacks are used for.

Musk and Tesla have already revealed this, in fact they have piloted this in the UK and here in the US. Sometime soon it could be released pending approval. Apparently you haven’t kept up with these developments, so you might read about Tesla’s Autobidder.

Yesterday, 2021 May 13, the director of the CDC issued new guidelines for mask wearing. For those who are fully vaccinated, the guidelines do not require wearing masks outside, except in crowds. Inside it’s similar. But those who are not fully vaccinated must still wear masks. However the CDC still defers to state and local guidelines. More information here.

I think it would be best for the US if at least one of these legislators-in-denial was reprimanded or censured in some way to show that Congress is serious about ending the untruth that is dividing this country.

First, the problem should be analyzed and defined precisely in legal, political, psychological and other terms to narrow it down. Then a treatment should be formulated.

It seems to me that this is as close to a civil war this country has come since the 1860s. There is a fundamental problem that is causing the denial of the truth.

The deniers should be examined by psychologists to see what it is that is causing them to deny reality. These schisms are deep into the minds of so many that they are causing harm.
