This link to the article is supposed to be free, and *not* behind a paywall. This well-researched article is a good article, with some statements that are disputable. One example is that they state that lithium batteries are flammable. The LFP cells now used in battery storage systems are low to not flammable. There are plans to use sodium batteries and they are not flammable. There are still older battery storage systems that used flammable batteries, but they will be upgraded as time passes and their replacements will not be flammable. That said, anything that stores energy can start a fire or explode, and this includes the 20 gallons of gasoline that you have in the car that you drive every day.
Make sure that you look at the charts.

Another article about the battery plants being built in the southeastern states. The old fossil fuels jobs are being replaced by good clean jobs in an industry that has a bright future. After all the coal power plants have been replaced by wind, solar and battery storage, then the same will happen with oil and natural gas. The faster the fossil fuels are replaced, the less damage will happen to the Earth’s atmosphere. It must happen ASAP if catastrophes are to be minimized.
