2024-02-10 China Says Wind, Solar Are About 40% Of Installed Power Generation

The 15 MW onshore wind turbine’s blades are the least of this news.  The following is the big part of this story.  Quote:

“”The China Electricity Council said in its latest annual report that wind and solar would make up around 40% of the country’s installed power generation capacity by the end of 2024 – up from 36% in 2023.””

China has been installing wind and solar as fast as possible in order to meet the huge demand for electric power.  They have also been building coal power plants because the growth in power demand has been so great.  But the Chinese fully realize that the coal power plants’ pollution is overwhelming the country and is a major cause of pulmonary (lung) diseases, and they are working hard to eventually replace fossil fuels with renewables.
