My interpretation of his discussion is that Trump and the rest of the Republican party who have supported him have ripped apart the fabric of American Democracy and it will never be repaired.
This 12 minute interview by Judy Woodruff is to me an exceedingly important assessment of the horrible state of American democracy – caused mainly by a single person: the former president who refuses to concede that he lost the election fair and square.
Trump lost the popular vote to Biden by more than 7 Million votes. In 2016 Clinton also won the popular vote by more than 2.8 million votes. Trump never deserved to be president, he won by the fluke of the way electoral votes are counted.
Another point: if Trump had been impeached (there were two attempted impeachments!) and tried in the senate and convicted, there would have never been a Jan 6th.
