BTC talks with attorney Mark Elias about the the lawsuit in Florida winning against the unconstitutional Republican gerrymandering that demolished a black majority district, and lawsuits in other states against Republican gerrymandering. Mr. Elias is a real hero for taking on the unconstitutional power grabbing the Republicans have been doing in order to deny minority voters their right to be fairly represented.
I really bothers me that the party that claims to be the party of the common man above the government uses the government to deny equal rights and to institutionalize racism. Mr. Elias said one illegal redistricting lawsuit took 7 years to win. The Republicans delay and appeal in order to stall the action for as long as possible in order to maximize the amount of power they’re grabbing illegally. This is, to use the term the Republicans are using about the DOJ, weaponizing the judicial system in order to sieze power and remain in control illegally.
