FTE said, “Hydrogen has no role in the transition to sustainability. It is a fossil fuel Trojan horse designed to give natural gas a niche to survive in.”
That statement is the pinnacle of hypocrisy. Like saying we can’t leave the barn door open after all the livestock has escaped! There’s nothing trojan about it, no surprises. Gray H2 is already here, making huge amounts of CO2 and must be eliminated. As for no role, green hydrogen will replace the gray H2 used for making the fertilizer for the food you eat. Then there are already many industrial processes in which green hydrogen will replace gray H2. One major use is for upgrading fuels during the refining process.
Methane is already being used with steam reformation for these processes so your banning a Trojan horse is too late. If you expect to cut off gray h2 without green H2 to replace it, and consequently starve the world, you’re foolish for even considering it.
So let’s hear your solution to the already immense gray H2 problem. I’m not holding my breath.
