2015-12-16 JFET Joule Thief

I captured this off a video and tried to make it a bit more readable.  I think it was from Sanjev. I built it and it does work at 40 millivolts.  The 2SK170 JFETs are not common, and may be difficult to obtain.  Other JFETs can be used, but I haven’t tried them.  I wrote

2015-11-12 Pedal Power Your Home

I have been into this kind of stuff for quite a while.  You can search my blog for more on this. It’s difficult for even the strongest  of bicyclists to put out 100 watts for a few minutes, let alone an hour.  Assuming that a person could pedal a 100% efficient 50 watts for an

2015-06-02 Batterizer Claims 8x Battery Life

Thanks for the article, QS.  It shows a whole lot more than Batterizer’s website.  Now that I see what it looks like and how it works, I’m more convinced that it’s not snake oil. According to the article they have been able to miniaturize the circuit.  They say the circuit has been around for awhile.

2015-01-24 Free Energy Device

An interesting ‘free energy’ generator (link below).  It’s a very large light bulb to be operating from a 1.5 volt battery, especially that bright.  If it was incandescent, it would not be so bright white, which leads me to believe that it has 1 or more LEDs.  If so, then it must have a Joule

2014-11-05 Flashlight & Warm White Strawhat LEDs

I’ve thought about putting a series string of LED lamps into a Moebius Loop to make a free energy generator.  No telling if the thing will work.  😉 The LEDs I bought a box of 100 Sencart LEDS from dealextreme.com more than a month ago and they finally arrived this week.  The cost was under

2014-08-02 Solar Panel From Goldmine

I bought a couple solar panels from goldmine-elec.com.  They are cat no G20110 and cost $14.00 each. They are 3.5W and 0.19 Amps at 18 volts.  I haven’t had a chance to measure and evaluate them yet.

2014-04-02 Steel Weight For Gravity Light

I was not content with the larger weight bag that was included in the Gravity Light kit.  It’s too long and takes up a lot of room.  By making it smaller I may be able to get the Gravity Light to run for up to a minute longer.  I filled it with rocks which are

2014-03-15 Gravity Light

The postman brought me a package today and I opened it up.  I was surprised to find the thing I’ve been waiting for for almost a year.  It’s a potential to kinetic energy converter – the Gravity Light.  I got to work and assembled it and hung it from the eaves outside.  I filled the

2014-01-31 Penny Battery Lights Red LED

I had fairly good success with the Zinc Air (sort of) battery, so I decided to make something using pennies.  Prior to 1981, the U.S. pennies were made of solid copper, but 1981 and after the pennies have been made with zinc and a copper coating. I got six pennies, three of the solid copper

2013-12-24 Other Ideas For Gravity Light

Kirk commented that I could hang the Gravity Light from the attic and let the weights drop into the basement.  Problem is I don’t have a basement, and my attic isn’t much bigger than 3 feet (1 meter).  I wouldn’t gain enough to make it worth cutting a hole in my ceiling.  One guy once
