Solar power is set to deliver the single largest increase in generation, adding well over 140 terawatt hours compared with 2025 levels. This surge reflects rapid cost declines, massive utility scale buildouts, and strong residential and commercial adoption across the country.
Wind power also continues its strong expansion, contributing roughly 50 terawatt hours of additional generation. Together, wind and solar are doing the heavy lifting of future power growth, reinforcing their role as the backbone of new electricity supply.
