From my state of Iowa these wind farms besides providing over 50 percent of Iowa’s power, they also send power over long transmission lines to other states such as Illinois and Wisconsin.
They’ve built them and they work. If they weren’t profitable they wouldn’t be building them here. It has made for a lot of jobs for Iowa.
We also have solar farms here. Which is increasing. The United States is now behind China in solar sadly. They are becoming the OPEC of alternative forms of energy which we should be embracing and leading in. Things change. You either jump in board with change or you get left behind.
Honda has a solid state battery manufacturing plant in the works to start test runs in January. Should it be successful their electric cars will run twice the distance on a charge, and be able to charge much faster. It is possible that they will be manufacturing these vehicles by the end of the decade.
I love the internal combustion engine. I grew up working on them with my dad in a Skelly station. Those days are gone. Change is coming just like when cars replaced the horse & buggy. Wind and solar power is already here to stay because it’s cheaper and more sustainable.
No we won’t end the need for oil yet as it is used in manufacturing. But we are going to use less of it.
Is wind power and solar power perfect. Of course not. But it is better for us and more economical than fossil fuels. You can fight change, but you can’t stop it.””
