I don’t know what happened, but caiso.com used to be the California independent system operator website. You could go there and see how many megawatts total and of renewables were being generated in real time. Then I started getting error messages like there was a problem!
I checked a few times a month and renewables were often over half the generated power.
But this does not tell what’s happening Behind The Meter – California has over a million solar roofs. So mid-day the caiso website would say the solar was over half of the GW, but actually if the roofs were counted, a much higher percentage of generation was actually being generated.
