This article tells about many drawbacks of hydrogen: gray, blue and green hydrogen.
They claim that << Combusting green hydrogen in power plants jeopardizes public health and delays climate action >> because it produce nitrogen oxides. But so do burning fossil fuels.
They bring up that steel pipes are made brittle by hydrogen at high temperature. But this is a dubious statement because hydrogen is not transported by pipelines at high temperature and hydrogen is now being stored and transported without any problems all over the world.
The reason there is so much anti-hydrogen propaganda is that environmentalists are afraid that allowing blue hydrogen will prolong fossil fuel companies using fossil fuels, mainly natural gas, and extend the life of their assets. The obvious solution is to mandate converting to 100% green hydrogen by a certain date, and to 30% and 60% milestones, with stiff penalties for failure.
