What’s the best part is these 2N107, etc. transistors were some of the earliest germanium transistors made by an American company, yet they’re performing as good as they were 60 plus years ago in the ’50s. I have several Zenith Royals with these and they’re all doing just fine, the electrolytic capacitors needed replacement but not the 2N107s or other transistors. It’s like the US government, mainly the military and NASA, established reliability testing early on and the transistor manufacturers hermetically sealed the cases, first with solder and then with welded cases. The results were transistors that last a lifetime.
