2022-04-10 Photovoltaic Thermal Panel System

Dave @ JHAT discusses photovoltaic thermal panels and a system by Sunova. The panels are kept cooler and can last much longer – fifty years.

My patron comment: The solar water heater panels have been in use for many decades, since before 1980. I’ve often thought that solar PV should be sandwiched with these solar water panels to get the benefits of both.

Also, Stirling engines can run on lower temperature so the heated fluid should be used to run a group of stirling engines that can be added as the solar heat increases. The engines will be used to generate electricity. And here’s another important thing: stirling engines don’t have to change reciprocating motion into rotating motion. Just move the magnets back and forth inside of a coil to generate AC.

Another thing. The other two ways of keeping solar panels cool are by floating photovoltaics and with agrivoltaics.
