The newsmedia came out with this story today, showing documents that show Trump tried to get the Justice Dept. to overturn the election results of the 2020 election. This is an attempted coup d’etat that is unprecedented in the history of the US. This shameful act is something that should have never happened in a democracy. Our country needs to have regulations that explicitly limits the executive power from doing this ever again.
I shudder to think what could have happened if some of Trump’s appointees, notably Attorney General Bill Barr, had not refused to cooperate. Only custom is preventing these joker presidents from doing horribly inappropriate things.
