Suddenly this Saturday I have received 6 comments, where before I have seldom received any. Five of the comments don’t really say anything, and give me the feeling that they may be spam. But spam always tries to sell something, usually with a link to a spamvertised website, and these comments didn’t have that link. I’m mystified as to why all of a sudden people have started sending these. It could be that some search engine came upon my blogs and scooped them up into its database. Most of all of these comments seem to be from Bing searches. It’s just really weird that all of a sudden I get 6 comments within a matter of hours.
Update: In the last hour or two I’ve received more comments, again not worth adding to the blogs. Really weird…
Update: I’ve continued to receive more of these comments consisting of a single sentence, almost all of them have a word misspelled, and they don’t say anything that is useful. I think I’ve deleted a dozen so far.
Monday morning Dec 12 – I received three more comments, one legit and two spam, I think. One was in Russian, so I couldn’t read it. But it had a link, which seemed to be spam, so I just trashed it. The remaining one was spam, so I clicked on spam, but I don’t know what difference that is compared to clicking on trash.
Sun Dec 18 – I have again received several more comments. They generally say “Hi, I like your blog..” with an occasional misspelling, and come from various odd places. I continue to delete them since they are not relevant to the blog they comment on.
