After actively disparaging renewables, he says, “I’m not actively disparaging renewables…”
He makes this big stink about how renewables take up so much more land than nuclear. This is totally irrelevant! Farmers in Iowa, Nebraska have the wind turbines out in the middle if their crop fields; no problem. The solar panels are on hundreds of thousands of California roofs which take up no more room. There are these new “agrivoltaics” solar farms that grow crops under the solar panels. The crops grow bigger leaves to compensate.
And most of the other disparaging remarks he made just don’t apply, or may have applied a decade ago but do *not* apply today. Altogether this video is just an exaggerated put-down of renewables and other competitors of nuclear. It’s fortunate that these shills for the nuclear industry are being ignored by the utilities which are going with developing more and more renewables plus storage faster, cheaper and at a lower cost than nuclear.
So much for this nonsense.
