I’m messing around with some cheap macro lens adapters for my Nikon DSLR. The pic is the hard drive head from a 20 GB Maxtor HDD. I don’t see any dividing line between the two ‘poles’ of the magnet or whatever it is in the head. I know that the heads use magnetoresistive technology but if it’s magneto- anything, it should have poles, right? Anyway the pic came out reasonably well, considering the adapters cost only $13.00 plus shipping. I put a +10 and a +4 together to get up really close, then I cropped the photo a lot.
