In the past few years I have seen the symbols +VE and -VE pop up in schematics such as this example. Ever since the great experimenters the likes of Volta, Ampere and Faraday passed on their theories to the whole world more than a century ago, the simple and effective symbols + and – have been used. It is a disgrace and dishonor to attempt to change or add to these symbols something that is neither needed nor adds understanding.
