I’m curious about how the MOSFET works in this circuit, forgive me for asking a super newbie question but what kinda voltage drop do you get across it? Thanks
The 2N7000 specs say 5 ohms resistance maximum, but it can be lower than that. if the JT is drawing 80 mA, then the IR drop should be about 0.4V or less. It depends on the individual FET. If you change to a low resistance MOSFET. the drop could be much less than 0.1 volt. You can also put two or more 2N7000 FETs in parallel. I suggest you try it out – the circuit works okay like it is.
