{"id":9144,"date":"2014-01-04T07:19:04","date_gmt":"2014-01-04T15:19:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?p=9144"},"modified":"2014-01-28T06:19:16","modified_gmt":"2014-01-28T14:19:16","slug":"2014-01-03-ebay-led-lights-and-remote-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?p=9144","title":{"rendered":"2014-01-03 eBay- LED Lights And Remote Control"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightSocketRemoteControl2014-01-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9147\" alt=\"LightSocketRemoteControl2014-01-04\" src=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightSocketRemoteControl2014-01-04-300x179.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"179\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightSocketRemoteControl2014-01-04-300x179.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightSocketRemoteControl2014-01-04.jpg 743w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>I was perusing the stuff on eBay and found a couple things that interested me.\u00a0 The first was the Remote Control Light Socket.\u00a0 It screws into the existing socket and then the light (says LED) screws into it.\u00a0 I&#8217;m hoping that since it says LED they did not do something funny and reduce its current handling rating to where it would not work with other types of lights.\u00a0 But then one never knows.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightLED2.5WPureWhite2014-01-04.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-9148\" alt=\"LightLED2.5WPureWhite2014-01-04\" src=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightLED2.5WPureWhite2014-01-04-300x177.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightLED2.5WPureWhite2014-01-04-300x177.jpg 300w, https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/LightLED2.5WPureWhite2014-01-04.jpg 746w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The second is a set of three white 2.5 watt LED lights for $8.00 U.S.\u00a0 That&#8217;s less than three dollars per light.\u00a0 My guess is that these may be using LEDs that are substandard, such as low light output.\u00a0 Whatever the case, buyer beware.\u00a0 Most decent LED lights are about ten Dollars U.S. or more.\u00a0 These do set a low price mark, though.\u00a0 If the quantity of LED lights being sold increases to the point where they become a commodity item, the prices may go lower, perhaps $3.00 someday.<\/p>\n<p>But what I see is that in the future the amount of LED lights will drop, since there are only so many light sockets our there and once they get filled with LED lights, the only LED lighte being sold will be for lew installations and replacement purposes.\u00a0 But if the 22.8 year claims are true, those LED lights will be lasting for a very long time, and the replacement market will be much smaller than the incandescent replacement market.\u00a0 Some of my friends tell me that the CFLs don&#8217;t last any longer than the incandescents, so that may also happen with the cheap LED lights bulbs.<\/p>\n<p>I would also like to add that I have had very good results with the Philips LED lights, mostly the &#8220;L Prize&#8221;
