{"id":288,"date":"2011-12-12T05:26:07","date_gmt":"2011-12-12T13:26:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?p=288"},"modified":"2012-03-14T18:56:04","modified_gmt":"2012-03-15T01:56:04","slug":"2011-12-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?p=288","title":{"rendered":"2011-12-12 Toggle Switch Debounced Pushbutton, Touch Switch"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I posted this circuit to the &#8216;net a long time ago, and it hung around on various forums or websites for a long time.\u00a0 I had it in watsonseblog but that&#8217;s no longer available.\u00a0 So here it is, along with a few more touch switch type circuits.<a href=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=343\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-343\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-343\" title=\"ToggleSwitchDebouncedPushbutton\" src=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/ToggleSwitchDebouncedPushbutton-300x224.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/ToggleSwitchDebouncedPushbutton-300x224.gif 300w, https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/ToggleSwitchDebouncedPushbutton.gif 622w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a flip-flop that it toggled by the absence or presence of charge on C1 when the P.B. pushbutton switch is pressed.\u00a0 The C1 is slowly charged or discharged through R2 so you can press the button quickly and C1 will not yet be charged or dischaged and the circuit will not toggle.<\/p>\n<p>The Q3 PNP transistor can deliver a hundred or so milliamps, enough to drive a relay.\u00a0 If you use a relay, make sure to put a 1N4002 rectifier across the coil, with the cathode or banded end to the positive side.
