The LEDs have blue light which insects use to see. The moths are pollinators like bees plus they&#8217;re food for many animals.<\/p>\n<p>There are a number of solutions for mitigating the problem. The blue light can be filtered out, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>My thinking is that the streetlights should be fitted with motion detectors that go on for maybe ten seconds when a vehicle approaches.  During late night \/ early morning the traffic is so low that there will be very little LED light to attract insects.
