But every kWh of electricity used takes 15 gallons of water. And here is the major difference: it never stops! The thermoelectric (coal, gas, nuclear) power plants continuously use a staggeringly huge amount of water, 41% of the total withdrawals!! Over a hundred billion gallons per day! And it never ends!<\/p>\n
Next time someone complains about water use, show them this and tell them that every time they use that coffee machine, it’s like turning on the water faucet and letting water run down the drain!<\/p>\n
