{"id":1128,"date":"2012-02-08T23:33:36","date_gmt":"2012-02-09T07:33:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?p=1128"},"modified":"2012-03-14T18:52:19","modified_gmt":"2012-03-15T01:52:19","slug":"2012-02-08","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?p=1128","title":{"rendered":"2012-02-08 Useless Wire Stripping Tool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This combination wire stripper and cutter is the worst tool I&#8217;ve ever purchased.\u00a0 I purchased it at the local hardware store (they&#8217;re now out of business) and didn&#8217;t notice the sign on the cabinet.\u00a0 I got home and tried the wire stripper out on a piece of 24 AWG stranded wire.<\/p>\n<p>When I put the wire between the jaws at the right end )(top picture) and squeezed the handles, the outer jaws grasped the wire and the inner jaws cut the insulation and pulled it off. All was fine and dandy.\u00a0 When I let go of the handles, the two jaws went back together as expected, and the now stripped strands were crushed and crumpled by the jaws as they went back together.\u00a0 The wires were now a very fine tangled mess!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/?attachment_id=1323\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1323\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1323\" title=\"DSC_0238&amp;239S\" src=\"http:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC_0238239S-242x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"242\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC_0238239S-242x300.jpg 242w, https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC_0238239S-828x1024.jpg 828w, https:\/\/rustybolt.info\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/DSC_0238239S.jpg 931w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 242px) 100vw, 242px\" \/><\/a>I went back to the hardware store and asked for a refund.\u00a0 The boss told me no, and to read the sign on the cabinet.\u00a0 The sign said NO REFUNDS ON TOOLS.\u00a0 He said to contact the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>I sent a complaint letter to the manufacturer, some company in Hawaii, and asked for a refund and RMA number (return materials authorization).\u00a0 I received back a package with a letter apologizing and it included two more of the same tools!!!\u00a0 Like, do I need two more useless tools?\u00a0 NO!<\/p>\n<p>BUYER BEWARE!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This combination wire stripper and cutter is the worst tool I&#8217;ve ever purchased.\u00a0 I purchased it at the local hardware store (they&#8217;re now out of business) and didn&#8217;t notice the sign on the cabinet.\u00a0 I got home and tried the wire stripper out on a piece of 24 AWG stranded wire.
